Oorzaak: Multiple possible causes: unit not plugged in, incorrect mounting height, wrong hood size, insufficient BTU output, filters not installed correctly, blocked ducting, damper not opening, too many elbows in ductwork, carbon filters need replacement

Verify unit is plugged in and fan works before installation. Check mounting height (30-36 inches indoor, 36-40 inches outdoor). Ensure hood width matches cooktop size. Verify BTU output (divide gas burner BTU by 100, or electric wattage by 10). Clean or replace baffle/mesh filters. Check ducting for blockages. Verify damper opens when hood is engaged. Limit ductwork to 2-3 elbows maximum and 40 feet total run. Replace carbon filters every 3-6 months.

Oorzaak: Fan speeds not checked before installation, blocked ducting, motor not properly attached to housing, stuck backdraft damper, damper not installed or malfunctioning, motor vibration

Verify fan speeds prior to installation. Ensure ducting is clear. Check that motor is securely attached to housing. For 760 CFM hood, verify 6-inch back draft damper on transition piece opens and closes properly when engaged. If damper is stuck, clear it. Check roof or side vent damper functionality. If motor is accessible, remove gray cap and tighten motor knob to eliminate vibration.

Check filter for buildup and clean or replace if needed. Inspect ductwork for obstructions such as bird nests or other debris, especially in roof or wall cap.

Oorzaak: Filter becomes dirty or damaged over time

Wash grease filter with hot water and detergent once per month, or place in dishwasher. Ensure filter is completely dry before reinstalling. Replace if damaged or too dry to clean.

Oorzaak: Carbon filters lose filtering capability over time

Do not wash charcoal odor filters. Discard and replace when noticeably dirty, when they stop filtering odors, or at least once per year.
